The cost of college continues to escalate.

The National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education has released its 2006 report. It states that the percentage of annual family income needed to pay net college costs at public 4-year instutitions has gone up again this year. Some of the highest are:

Ohio at 42%
New Jersey at 37%
Oregon at 36%
Illinois at 35%
Washington at 31%
Iowa at 30%

The rest of the states are not much better, but they give Utah and California a C (with Utah being the best). D's go to Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, New Jersey and Washington. All the rest were rated F! Getting a college education is becoming an increasingly expensive proposition.
